【摘要】:Thisstandarddescribesthedeterminationofthemolecularweightdistribution,number-averagemolecularweightMnandweight-averagemolecularweightMwofpolymersthataresolubleinwaterbygelpermeationchromatography(GPC).Thisstandardisapplicabletoneutralpolymersandpolyanions(e.g.polycarboxylates,polysaccharides,completelysaponifiedpolyvinylalcoholsandhigh-molecularpolyethyleneoxides).Itisnotapplicabletopolycations(e.g.polyvinytpyrrolidone,polyvinylpyridine,saltsofpoly(diallyI-N,N-dimethyl-azacyclopentane)andchitosane.Itispossiblethat,inspiteofthegoodsolubilityinthemobilephaseandthegoodrepeatabilityofthechromatogramsobtained,thismethodcannotbeusedwithcertainpolymertypesbecauseofspecificinteractions,suchasadsorption,withinthesample/eluent/columncombination(seealsoclause12).Themethodisnotanabsoluteoneandrequirescalibrationwithcommerciallyavailableunbranchedpullulanstandardsthathavebeencharacterizedbyindependentabsolutemethods.Theresultsforsamplesofpolymersotherthanpullulanarethereforeonlycomparablewithingroupsofsamplesofthesametype.TheconditionsspecifiedinthisstandardarenotsuitablefortheGPCanalysisofpolymersampleswithMwvaluesgreaterthan10~6g/mol(seeAnnexC).Nocorrectionmethods(e.g.fortheeliminationofpeakbroadening)areincludedinthisstandard.Ifabsolutemolecularweightvaluesarerequired,anabsolutemethod,e.g.membraneosmometryforMnorlightscatteringforMw,shallbeused.
